We loved the facilities offered by this deluxe hotel. The venue was centrally situated. We would recomand the hotel and staff.
My favorite hotel in Chicago, the staff was absolutely perfect. Very clean and well kept rooms, such relaxing venue. Plenty of so delicious food.
Perfect breakfast, pleasant king studio. The hotel was just a 5 minute walk from the magnificent mile. We loved it
The location is perfect! There is a Trader Joes, excellent bakery, and great shopping on the same block. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful when giving tips on where to eat, etc.
We had the standard room and the size was small for what you pay. Next time we will definitely get an upgrade. You are certainly paying for the location, the staff and the upscale feel of the hotel.
exceptional hotel, very friendly staff, good location at the heart of the city
Comfortable beds and kindness of the staff
The hotel was luxurious, however there was a problem with the room card/key it didn't work on 3 different occasions, I had to get help from the concierge. I missed the deadline for reserving a room at an advantageous rate for the Spak/Schechner wedding and paid a lot of money to Hotwire for my room. No deal with them... I did have a delux room though and would recommend this hotel to those who can afford it. I inquired about the use of a swimming pool at the hotel and the desk folks told me I could use the pool at the Sheraton across the street. Wonderful! I did and felt relaxed and refreshed after my swim.
The card/room key didn't work on 3 different occasions.
Nice bed, and bathroom, clean, stylish, water available for no charge. Location downtown friendly staff Food was better than expected, excellent breakfast. Hard to please someone from a food city like Portland coffee in the room was good, better than the usual hotel crappy coffee. Perfect idea to have starbucks instant
A bit thin walled, and not so quiet. Window shades did not cut out the light enough. Would have been nice to have a microwave available Kind of overpriced Had a better stay at the w on the lakefront for a much lower price
It is a nice hotel, friendly, bright rooms and the staff is nice. Optimal location.
The hotel does not meet its standards. It is not worth its money. Given a 300$ per night I would expect better amenities in the rooms (e.g.bathroom supplements are pooor, mini bar is overpriced), a better maintenance of the hallways (e.g. dirty floors in the hallways, cleaning carriages are standing in the middle of the hallway all night long), and a substantial part of the guests are party crowd which does not make a stay at the hotel a relaxing one.
Excellent Service, good size rooms, location, atmosphere
I was pregnant when I made my booking and told the hotel that as part of my Additinal request. I got to the hotel and I was promptly checked in! An even better surprise was the fact that they had a pregnancy pillow in the room or at least what I found comfortable to use as a pregnancy pillow and the room I was in was a lot bigger than the way it was described online. I called my husband promptly to tell him we will be staying at the James hotel when we come to Chicago for a vacation,
the staff was very tenitive. room really clean.
Casual but sophisticated atmospere
My bathtub drain was very slow
Great location. All the staff friendly efficient nothing too much trouble . Room spaceous and clean. The best hotel we've stayed in.EXCELLENT. Would definately stay again.
Friendly helpful staff! Nice clean design for rooms.
Pillows too fluffy, full.. Bed too soft, not firm enough.
